unable ping esxi host

good morning

i have 4 virtual machine ( all windows server) installed into esxi 5.0.0.469512

sometimes ( about once a month) some virtual machine in no longer reachable ( i cant ping it)

when i have this problem i can't reach esxi host ( i can't ping host ip and i can't use vsphere

but strangely i can reach and use other virtual machine inside

so i can restart host from console

server where i have problem is Power edge t410

i have run the main test ( change ethernet cable , change switch port)

can be a problem of my version ?

Your version is pretty old, 5.0 update 3 came out in Oct 2013. I'd get that at a minimum.

Also, have you checked your server against the VMware HCL?

my server is compatible with esxi 5 ( 5.1 u1 5.1 u2)

VMware-VMvisor-Installer-5.1.0.update02-1483097.x86_64.iso

Build Number: 1483097

as upgrade of my 5.0

without losing anything of my exist vmware installed
