Hello,

After a deployment of 7.0U2 on a brand new server with 5x10k SAS on a HPE P408i-p SR Gen10 Controller I observed a very poor iozone performance.

OK, I changed from raid 6 to raid 5, installed completely new, and again very poor performance with avg latency 250ms during a iozone run.

I checked again the HW compatibility list from VMware, controller firmware and vmware driver version seems to be in line with the recommondation from VMware.

Is there any experience with this controller and does anyone have a solution or idea for the problem?

Thanks All.

Hey,

Did you install the system by using the HPE Custom ESXi iso?

Cheers,

Hi,

Yes, the HPE Custom ISO is installed.

I checked again the HPE Support for the controller in combination with VMware, the installed version is exactly was HPE recommends.

BR,

S.

Can you confirm that the controller's cache is configured, and operating in write-back mode?

The controller cache status is OK, the cache ratio is 10% read / 90% write, Batterystatus is OK.

I double checked this, yes can confirm cache is working properly.
