topic Is there a way to talk to a guest OS programatically, via the console? in VMware vSphere™ Discussions

Being able to connect to a guest OS using the web console or VMRC is extremely handy, especially when I don't have an IP connection from my own machine to that OS. All I need is a connection to vCenter and then I have GUI access to the OS of every VM it manages.

Is there a way to get CLI access as well, so that I can programatically interact with the guest OS via the same kind of out-of-band console connection?

I use PowerCLI extensively and it would be really, really useful to be able to send commands to machines via vCenter/ESXi without having to have an IP connection to the VM.
