Minimal vmWare license to replicate virtual machines to Azure Site Recovery for vmWare

Hello,
I've like to start replication of vmWare virtual machines to Azure. For that Azure has a service called Azure Site recovery for vmWare.

What is the minimal vmWare licence or set of products that I need for it?
Eg. Would it be sufficient VMware vCenter Server Foundation ? Or do I need also another product?

I have no vmWare products now.

Hi Ravi,

This has been asked in other community sites, and here is the most recent thread that I could find with an accepted solution.

https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Break-Fix-Technical-Discussions/Need-to-migrate-Amazon-EC2-Instances-to-VMware-infrastructure/td-p/528051

Since this does involve production VMs and seems to be urgent, I would highly recommend contacting VMware Support for assistance here: https://customerconnect.vmware.com/support

You may also try reaching out to your VMware Partner to see if they may be able to assist.

I hope that helps!

We are planning to migrate AWS VM's to onprem VMware Vcenter.

i have found a old KB in vmware portal

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1018015

This KB says to convert the VM in AWS infra and ftp the vmx, dmdk to vcenter.

To minimise the downtime , i want to convert the VM as below Source - AWS Destination - ESXI in onprem vcenter.

Pls let me know this is possible or not ?

pls share document if any.

it is very urgent for me .

Guidance on M&A integration for IT teams - cloud, workspaces, network, security

Hi VMTN community!

We're assembling a set of best practices from a VMware perspective on handling M&A IT integrations, with the set of tools we've found to work best over the years of acquiring our own companies.

Check out the first blog post on the topic here: https://blogs.vmware.com/multi-cloud/2023/05/09/multi-cloud-ma-integration-series-day-0-productivity-for-new-employees/

I'll post the rest of the series in this thread.

Our goal is to help you handle these situations more efficiently, and with less toil in the process. Let us know what you think, and if you have feedback or experiences to share of your own.
