Grayed out field in Support Request form

Hello. I'm trying to file a Support Request, but I keep getting a message that "A error occurred while creating Support Request." This is probably because I didn't fill out the Problem Category field, which I couldn't do because it was grayed out. I've tried this several times. Does anyone have a suggestion how to get past this? I only have email support so I don't want to spend money to contact them on the phone. Thanks for your help.
