Exporting Virtual Machines

Hi,

I'm using VM Workstation 6. With the help I received in the forum, I have everything I need set up and working. Now, can I export these machines to another hard drive and delete them from my hard drvie, then, import them later? I didn't see anything that explains how to do this.

Also, can I export from my machine and import into a different PC? I have to send my notebook back and I"m gettting a replacement. I'd like to export all my VMs and import these on the new notebook. Thanks.

Regards-Michael G.

Hi Michael,

Just copy the complete directory where you created the virtual machine to another location or another PC. Use the "File" -> "Open" option to browse to the new location and open the .vmx file to power on the VM in it's new location.
