Simple question, is it possible to copy a Virtual Machine from 1 ESX host to another ESX host without shutting the virtual machine down?
This is called vMotion and requires VC and a shared storage.

Vmotion is the only way to move a running VM from one host to another. You can make a copy of a VM (clone) on another ESX host by using snapshots or VMware Converter.

Thanks guys,
Basically what I am going to do is turn it off and make a clone of the machine because the one is going to be on another ESX host in a suspended state and if the first host fails I will simply unsuspend the second.
Have started a project to implement a SAN however until this is done I dont have shared storage and as such cant use features like vmotion, ha, etc.
Thanks again
