I have copied one of my VM's to a network drive.
Vmware is giving a warring when you start the VM
But the machine is running perfect performance is also okay..startup is only a bit slower.
I use Gigabit network connection.

What warning is displayed? Can you probably post a screenshot?
Ciao, Andreas
Okay....this is only a warning about the performance being slower by running your VM from a network disk which is kind of a natural given (local disk access is faster than e.g. network disk access). Is is only of informational character such as the warning that debug code is embedded with earlier betas.
In other words, you can either acknowledge it every time you start your VM or click 'Never show this dialog again' and then acknowledge it so that it won't pop up again in the future.
Ciao, Andreas
I hope the VM will not crash directly if there is a delay.

Well...I do not know your network setup however, it should be more or less responsive automatically. Nonetheless , to your question: No, it should not crash. Having said this....I doubt that such a scenario is a test case that has been tested thoroughly...thus...you may stumble over a hiccup although I would consider the chances as pretty minimal.
Ciao, Andreas
I have done a simple test.
start the machine.
logon
unplug the network cable of the host
push the start button.
VM freezing after few..
plug the cable back...machine is running without any problem.
second test
from the command prompt
dir /s
unplug the cable
machine in freezing again
plug the cable back
machine runs from where it was unplug.
this makes the network VM's usable.

In such case what is minimum speed required by the network? and for efficient use speed should be? because i am planning to do the same with NAS(network attached storage).
This is *strongly* discouraged over LAN connections. If there's any hiccup in the network you can corrupt the VM, and performance will be terrible - even USB 3.0 to a spinning disk will be faster than GB Ethernet.
Using it over a SAN (like in a data center) certainly is an option, but those connections are far more robust and reliable.
