Migrating Virtual Machines to a new Host

I am in the process of cold migrating to a new host using virtual center from esx 2.5 to and esx 3.0.1. I setup a new Network card in the ESX 2.5.1 server and created a virtual switch called it migrate and assigned it to that adapter. Went into the virtual machine that I am migrating and assigned it to the migrate network adapter. Through virtual center I have selected the virtual machine which is turned off and select "Migrate to new host" when it comes to the validation part I get an error Migration from 192.168.25.16(esx 2.5.1) to 192.168.25.23(esx3.0.1): Network Interface 'NIC 1' uses network 'migrate' which is not accessible. When I go into the properties of the ESX 2.5.1 virtual machine that i am trying to migrate there is the 1 network adapter which I assigned to migrate. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Create a "migrate" network on your ESX 3 host too then try again.
