Any method to make Virtual Machine from VI 3 can be run in version 2.5.2?

Dear all,

I've upgraded my ESX server to VI 3 and the Virtual Machine in it. But now I need to put the Virtual Machine to ESX server 2.x.

Virutal Machine from VI 3 cannot be run in 2.x server, is there any method to convert the Virtual Machine back to version 2.x?

Thanks for advise.

Hi,

Finally, I got my Virtual Centre up and manages two VMWare hosts now. My environment is:

Virtual Center 2.0.1

VMWare Converter 3

VM1 - ESX 2.5.2 (same datacentre)

VM2 - VI 3 (same datacentre)

I tried using VMWare Converter 3 to migrate Virtual Machine from VM2 (VI3) to VM1 (v2.5.2), when selecting the destination host, I got error message "The managed host was actually running ESX 2.x rather than 3.x or VC".

I don't know why I got this message. VMWare Converter 3 should be used for the purpose to convert Virtual Machine between VMWare host with different version. Right? Or any steps I did wrong?

Could anyone kindly give me some hints? Many thanks.
