Ideal H/W Requirement for ESX server build

Has anyone build a hardware at home to make ESX Server to work? I mean can somebody give exact model numbers of Mother board, type of CPUs, single Socket or Dual socket CPUs etc etc..

I have gone through the System Requirement PDF for ESX, but i want to know specific Workstation/Server Motherboard model number if anybody has built at home which i can take a reference and build my own system

hehe you mean clone server ? No sorry, always went with VMware HCL.

My only input is make sure your on-board nics and pci nics are from the same manufacturer. Some people say you can team accross different manufacturers some say you can't. I would be safe and get the same. My 2 cents.
