Web Access Tomcat Manager login

I installed Virtual Center 2.0.1 on my computer. When I tried to perform Web Access Tomcat Manager, there was a challenge for User name and password. What is the default user name and password? I could not access with any of user accounts.

You should be able to login with a user that has administrative rights on the server where your VC is installed on (per default).

I tried all the admin user accounts. It is still challenging.

To get access to the Tomcat Manager, you have to edit the following file:

\[Virtual Center Install Directory]\tomcat\conf\tomcat-users.xml

add an entry

*username and password values can be whatever you want.

Then restart the tomcat service and login with the username and password you specified.

There is basically a built in role for the manager but its not assigned to any users by default.

Why are you trying to log into Tomcat on the VC server? There is nothing there that you need to administer or configure. Tomcat is all pre-configured with the VC install to utilize the web access component of VC. I'm sure VMware changed the login from the defaults and they do not publish the login info for it.
