Installation problem with esx server

Hi,

I am installing esx server on sata harddisk now how do make vmfs partition

while creating partitions i am unable to see vmfs file system.

kindly pls help

Do you have any SCSI Disk, VMFS isnt supported on SATA..?

Ditto you are going to need SCSI

Not offcially, VMFS is supported on SATA providing you use an LSI MegaRAID 150. I have systems that have been running fine for quite sometime. Granted don't call tech support if you do.

What kind of OS are you using. ESX 2.5.x works fine on LSI Megaraid 150-4 with SATA disks.

I didn't test on ESX 3.x
