This question was posted in another subforum so I will repost it here, as I am also interested in the answer.
Horizon Client for Linux depends on obsolete GStreamer 0.10 branch which is unmaintained (EOL) since 2013(!):
[...] the GStreamer team would like to clarify that GStreamer 0.10 is no longer maintained. Not by us, nor by anyone else.
There will be no more GStreamer 0.10 releases, not even bug-fix releases.
The full announcement can be found here: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/gstreamer-announce/2013-March/000273.html
And the version of Horizon released in 2020 still requires it: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon-Client-for-Linux/2006/horizon-client-linux-installation/GU...
The question is: what are the plans, if any, to migrate to GStreamer 1.x?
Thanks for your concern about Horizon Linux product. We already notice it and already plan to upgrade GStreamer 1.x in near future release.
So, the new release is out and it still depends on heavily outdated gstreamer-0.10. Shame
Its updated to 1.0 with Q1-2103 release
