So if I understand correctly, the VMware Player application was uninstalled but the Linux VM created previously was not deleted prior to that. (A bit like uninstalling Microsoft Office without deleting the Word document, Excel spreadsheets, etc that were created)
You don't indicate what your host OS is.
For Windows host OS, the default location where VMs are created %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Virtual Machines
For Linux host OS, the default location is /home/$USER/vmware
If the VMs were not created in the default location or you moved them around, look for a file(s) with extensions vmdk and or vmx. The vmdk files will be the large ones as it forms the virtual drives of the VM.
