VMware Workstation 15.5 Expand Disk Places Space in Wrong Location

I just tried expanding a Windows 10 2004 VM in Workstation 15.5 and when i go to expand the disk in Disk Management the extra space is in the wrong location and you can't expand the C drive. The space is after the recovery partition which i've never seen happen with expanding in VMware. Any help would be appreciated.

That's the expected result of a disk expansion (not related to virtual disks). If you want/need to use the new disk space to expand a given partition, you need some partitioning tool to move other partitions, so that the free disk space is adjacent to the partition that you want to expand.
