Reinstall VCSA

Hi,

i have installed vCenter server applicance 6.7. I have attached 3 ESXi Hosts to VCSA. Unfortunately the the Update Manager deosn't work anymore. Furthermore i need to change the IP configuration of the VCSA (i placed it in the wrong sub network, not the one the ESXi hosts are deployed).

How can reinstall a new VCSA? What needs to be done? I don't want setup again my user and access rules for my VMs.

If you install your 6.7 VCSA in the right way which means with a FQHN and not just entering a IP in this field you are allowed to change the IP address of your VCSA.  The VUM DB can be reseted form command line easily to see if this fix something. If not just take a look into the VUM logs.

No, if you reinstall you will loose your user and permission assignments because folder, perms, pool, alarms are a feature of vCenter and not of a ESXi Host.

Regards.

Joerg
