Windows 1903 WDDM driver issue

Hello All,

We are in the process of upgrading our VDIs OS to Windows 1903. Our infra is using Horizon 7.12 and all agents and tools are upgraded to the latest versions.

During the pilot testing process, we find that the pools which are using RDP protocol to connect the VDIs are facing black screen issues and frequent disconnection with RDP 3334 protocol error.

Disabling the WDDM driver through group policy and using XDDM drives solves this issue. We are using static VDI(dedicated) deployment.

Any suggestions or anyone facing the same issues?

Do you have a test VDI machine or Test Pool ?

Can you install View agent 8.0 and test?

NOTE: This is to isolate the issue. Do not need to upgrade Connection server or other component.

So, i did tried with the latest VMware agent 8 but it didn't help. Still there are multiple issues with pools using RDP protocol.

As per Microsoft they are suspecting WDDM driver version issue which is yet to be confirmed.

Reverting to XDDM driver is helping for now. Will update once if get to the exact solution.
