Try to update your windows to the 20H1 verion (2004).
You can do it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Just click on the Update now button and follow the steps the application shows.
Hi, thanks for your answer.
Already tried to upgrade, but I cannot because of an incompatibility with my audio card (conexant ISST) that is reported on Microsoft web sites: all computers with such audio card are blocked from upgrading.... Windows 10, version 2004 and Windows Server, version 2004 - Windows Release Information | Microsoft Docs
so no luck in that sense ....
at the end I followed your advice. I upgraded the conexant driver with the latest one, and dared the luck upgrading to 20H1 version.
All worked well, and now I am enjoying my vms working properly, and my computer upgraded to the latest.
So, thank you for your help!

I had the exact same problem. Thanks to the kind members of this community I could solve my problem. I am glad that it also worked for you.
Hope you can help others in the feature with their problems.
PS: I saw that you are using a SSD in your system. As a word of advice: please take a look at the "defragment and Optimize Drives" tool in windows. If the "scheduled optimization" is turned ON, make shure that you DESELECT any SSD's in your system. You can also turn it completely OFF if you want to. This is a flaw of the 20H1 update where it defragments your SSD's too much which makes them last not as long as they should be doing.
talked too early.
Yesterday after upgrade, as I said, all worked properly.
This morning (and changed nothing from yesterday) once again the original problem: mouse pointer floating around, and virtual machines inaccessible.
Had to uninstall update of windows, now all is working, but I am still here with my problem pending....
Sorry to hear it dind't work out in the end.
I have some questions and suggestions:
Have you updated your VMware tools and all components?
If not, please do so and try reinstalling VMware if it doesn't help.
Also have a look at your host drivers and bad updates. Update anything that is missing or too old.
Please let me know if this helped you out.
