Disk Space Overcommitment can consume all space

Hi I try the disk in thin provisioning that 10TB on the DataStore 8TB free space.

I  need create this hard disk thin of 10TB , and the future I add more Space in this DataStore.

Please can I do it?

Yes, but monitor the space used and do not let the datastore fill.

Yes, you can do overcommitment of datastore using Thin Provioned VMDKs, that is you provide more VMDK space than you have actually in your datastore. But in this case I sugest that besides monitoring the free space into your datastore you also configure an Alarm to monitor the used space in your datastore. So you can prevent run out of space and have your virtual machines stopped.
