Entire folder of VM dissapeared from datastore.

Dear all,

An entire folder with its contents dissapeared from the datastore after an unplanned restart. This is an ESXi 6.5.0 Update 1 (Build 5969303) and the datastore is VMFS5. Other folders of other VMs appear with their folders and their files are intact. Its as if someone deleted the entire folder. Please urgently assist.

Thanks for your reply. I've already messaged him in Skype - just a few minutes before your reply. Hopefully he will get back to me. In the meantime I'm restoring that VM from backup.

Hello, hope you are doing fine

Quick question: do you know if the VM in question was renamed at some moment?
When you rename a virtual machine it's folder and files are not renamed (unless you storage vmotion them)
