Getting error when trying to Migrate ESXi Host vmk0 and second physical adapter to N-VDS

Hi all ,

Not sure if anyone has come across this  . Am trying to deploy a new nsx-t deployment . When trying to Update the Transport Node Profile, and migrate the vmk0 from vSwitch0 to the Private NVDS , there is an error and we get partial success only . Any ideas

Are you using VLAN Tagging in your platform? If so make sure that the logical segment has the correct VLAN tagged or in case you are not using just add VLAN "0" to the segment.

Make sure you have one PNIC free so you can do the migration and after the migration you can move the remaining one.

Also make sure to add at least one VLAN Transport Zone into the Transport Node Profile.

Yes, We are running the most recent version and had this error  , of sharing same mac address. Had to change the mac on one of them and got fixed like here

VMkernel Migration to an N-VDS Switch

MAC sharing: If a VMkernel interface and a PNIC share the same MAC and they are in the same switch, they must be migrated together to the same target switch if they will be both used after migration. Always keep vmk0 and vmnic0 in the same switch.

Check the MACs used by all VMKs and PNICs in the host by running the following commands:

esxcfg-vmknic -l

esxcfg-nics -l
