This version is way out of support. You should be upgrading the environment to a supported version.
Any reason why you are trying to repair the installation ? If the installation has issues, you can always un-install and re-install pointing to existing database.
Thanks for replying.
No plans to upgrade.
I am not able to connect srm from the vcenter server also unable to start srm service. tried fresh installation before but no luck.
Not sure, if you will get any information about errors reported in this version and mostly you will be on your own. If you are trying to do a fresh install, you can try the following:
1. Clear any leftover installations from add/remove programs
2. Rename SRM folders/directory within SRM server
3. Try SRM installation
Hope that will help
SRM 5.5 went out of support in 2018, 5.0 isn't even listed in the Lifecycle Product Matrix it is that old.
I would guess your vSphere environment is also outdated?
If you need the DR protection of SRM for your workloads, why is upgrading onto a supported version not an option?
Vsphere environment is outdated and running on vcenter/ESXi 5.0. there is no plan to upgrade
Lots of "fingers crossed" supporting that environment - hope for your sake you get this issue resolved and your platform continues to function.
Since everything is outdated on that infra, maybe an old cert is causing the issue.
I would check those.
