Is it possible to add Custom Attributes and/or Tags to the seach index ?

Hi Folks,

I coldn't find any article / hints on this topic on a quick search.

Background: we have some Infos about the VMs written into custom attributes (like Responsible Person) and I would like to make that items seachable via Web-Client, if possible.

We currently discuss wether it is a good idea to extend that to a certain degree to make administration a little easier in a midsizes environment (~500 VMs).

Hi there! There is something called Advanced Search (Perform an Advanced Search).

I found this option from vSphere Web Client (Flex)

If you want to filter by tags, you can go to Home > Tags & Custom Attributes > Click on a tag an see the related objectspastedImage_4.png

Regards!

Thanks, the search via Flex-GUI works as intended ans also alows for searching inside the notes field.

For HTML5 It seems to only work for Tags & Attributes, but not for notes.
