VCSA 7 backup via SCP

Hi Community,

I previously used SCP to backup my 6.5 VCSA to a Linux server. Looking at the documentation for v7 SCP is not mentioned any more. Has anyone come across this in their upgrades? Does it still work?

Before starting a backup, a backup server must be set up and configured such that the appliance has access to it.

The protocols supported for Center backup are FTPS, HTTPS, SCP, FTP, NFS, SMB, and HTTP.

to answer your question: although it is not explicit mentioned in the documentation SCP is still supported in vcsa 7.0

The 7.0 documentation doesn’t mention SCP, it matches the screenshot: File-Based Backup and Restore of vCenter Server

The same documentation for 6.5 does include SCP.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I think the initial replies to my post were incorrect and SCP is in fact not supported in vSphere 7 as the more recent posts show.
