VCF 4 license requirement?

just read License Management and https://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/datasheet/products/vmware-cloud-fo...

but I would like to clarify:

if the VCF 4.0 enterprise edition is chosen, do I need to prepare license key of "SDDC manager + vSphere + vSAN + NSX-T Data Center + vCenter Server", totally 5, to activate the VCF completely?

or maybe some licenses are combined together?

thanks

Not sure if this is what you are looking for,

During the install process, you will be asked for a license key for each of these products independently.

This is a screenshot from the XLSX Workbook that feeds the data into VCF during the day 0 install process.

The Red Fields on the right would need to be filled with the keys

Let me know if you have further questions on how to license this.

Hi heathbarj3 thanks for help.

I saw this VMware Cloud Foundation 4.0 Release Notes and it stated that

The following VMware software components deployed by SDDC Manager are licensed under the Cloud Foundation license:

  • VMware ESXi
  • VMware vSAN
  • VMware NSX-T Data Center

So, except for the primary products(vCenter, vSAN...) listed in the VCF BOM list, does SDDC manager/Cloud Builder VM require independent license to build the VCF?

The Cloud Builder appliance is EULA enforced but is not "locked" and does not require a key to actually deploy, it is a one time use deployment appliance. In order to gain access to download and use it does require a VCF License purchase.

SDDC manager does require a license key, as shown in the screen shot above.

Hope this helps
