Is it possible to downgrade a VMware vSphere 7 Essentials Kit for 3 hosts Licence to Licence Version 6.0 U3?
Thanks to everyone for the quick answers. The downgrade is necessary because according to the compatibility list, the hardware does not support the latest versions.
Yes, downgrading a license is possible - VMware Knowledge Base
Be aware that vSphere 6.0 is out of support - VMware Knowledge Base
You should be only downgrading to 6.7 or 6.5.

abhilashhb is right.
As addiontial note i can say its totally normal that you only can buy the current version and than you must downgrade if needed for no costs. If you find the action menu within your my.vmware account than its self explaining. A later upgrade it also for free and you can also perform partially downgrades or splitting instances. Dont get confused... vCenter have its own licenses.
Quick info... your vSphere 6 key than is valid from 6.0 up to 6.7u3.
If possible run the latest vSphere vCenter like 6.7 and manage your 6.0/6.5/6.7 Hosts.
If you only bought vSphere Essentials(non plus) than you have no support at first and the support end of 6.0 isnt that important for you.

the support end is important for everyone because it's also about security updates
Can we ask why you want to use 6.0 U3 specifically?
The downgrade is necessary because according to the compatibility list, the hardware does not support the latest versions.
Hi,
No, because version 6.0 is no longer available.

I take it that this is in use in a production environment?
If the hardware doesn’t support a version of vSphere that is currently in support then you either need to upgrade the hardware or if they won’t let you do that then you need to make it absolutely clear that you are NOT recommending this and it is management’s responsibility and that they are culpable if things go wrong.
