VMware only using 895MB vramnnnn

I'm running a windows 7 VM (VMware tools installed and everything). Since I moved to Linux I'm trying to play Roblox through the VM. On dxdiag it says the approx. total memory is 895, even though I got 2GB GPU and I set max vram usage to 2GB. I'm wondering if there's a way to make it use more vram? Thanks!

It seems like a MSFT bug that might have been resolved in later version of patches or windows.

Where are you running the dxdiag? On linux?

Then the article I attached above holds good. It's the issue with the OS. You might be seeing wrong values because of the bug.
