allowLegacyCPU=true when installing - get error: "No persistent storage available for system logs and data. ESXi is operating with limited system storage space. Logs and system data will be lost on reboot"

Hello,

I am trying to install VMware vSphere Hypervisor v.7.0.0. 15843807 in a HP DL380G7 with 2 x XEON E5645 2.40GHz

In my first attempt I get the error: "CPU is not supported by ESXi 7.0.0"

In order to by-pass it I enter (SHIFT-O) the parameter: allowLegacyCPU=true

Now I get the error: "No persistent storage available for system locks and data. ESXi is operating with limited system storage space. Logs and system data will be lost on reboot"

Any ideas?

Thank you very much for your kind time and support

With my warmest regards for all of us

If it is supported under 6.0 it usually works with 6.5 U2 (not U3).

But totally not supported Smiley Wink

This msg is it totally common after first boot and all whats needed is to configure a datastore and than specify syslog and scratch location disk following by a host reboot. With syslog i dont mean a remote syslog, just the location where the host have to store its logs. Otherwise it use the Ramdisk which isnt that large.
