ESXi 6.7 Installation

Hi All.

I'm trying to reinstall ESXi 6.7 in a SSD disk, but I'm receiving the error "The selected disk has a VMFS volume which cannot be scaned. It may be corrupted or disconnected. Please select a different disk or correct the issue".

I tried to remove all partitions using VMware Host Client, no success. I tried to attach this disk in another server to reinstall ESXi, no success. I tried to connect this disk in my PC using a USB HD Case to format using Windows (Disk Management and Diskpart), no success.

Anyone could help me?

Kind Regards.

Use a Linux livecd and wipe the disk - at the very least wipe the first 3GB with zeroes.

Hi continuum. Thank you for your support.

Should I use an specific Linux Live CD version? Because I tried to format disk using Ubuntu ISO, no success.

Kind Regards.

Run DBAN against it. I guarantee it won't survive that process. Google for the site and download.

If DBAN failed then that disk is broken, which explains why nothing else works. Throw it away and get another.
