Drag-drop not working for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on VMware® Workstation 15 Pro

Hi all,

On Windows 10 x64 I've installed VMware® Workstation 15 Pro, Version 15.5.2 build-15785246 and on it a virtual machine: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The problem is drag and rop from Windows to Linux doesn't work and the VMware tools is installed and it's grayed out on the VM tab. so I went for doing these:

1- sudo apt-get autoremove open-vm-tools

2- Install VMware Tools by following the usual method (Virtual Machine --> Reinstall VMware Tools)

3- Reboot the VM

4- sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools

5- sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop

Now it looks this way:

But still drag and drop doesn't work. What else should I do, please?

Should I un-mount the Tools and restart the virtual machine now?

Did you actually run the installation for the VMware Tools inside the Linux guest?  All the Workstation menu does is mount the appropriate ISO image containing the Tools to the guest's CD-ROM drive.  You have to manually run the installation and configuration.
