I'm currently using NFS(4.1) datastore mounted to standalone ESXi (6.7) host as data storage (NFS server is setup on remote PC with Ubuntu on it). While copying data to NFS datastore I get maximum limit of an ISP provider, but when moving data from NFS datastore to HDD datastore on ESXi host the transfer speed is extremely slow.
I have tested network speed with iperf3 between remote PC, ESXi VM and ESXi host and it's in top limits of ISP provider. Also tested and got a decent HDD R/W on ESXi host, which rules out the HDD side.
Every performed test returns expected transfer speed but when using rsync for file transfer from NFS datastore to HDD datastore on ESXi host I get transfer speed in kb/s. Any idea what could be causing this slow transfer speed ?
I'm using rsync in case of network interruptions.
