App Volumes 4 Installation and Upgrade Considerations

We just published a new guide providing deployment considerations for new and upgraded installations of App Volumes 4. There are a few options, including the ability to run 2.x and 4 agents simultaneously while you plan your long-term migration.

Thanks for putting this together, VirtualSpence!

We have given considerable thought and energy to make the App Volumes 4 upgrade safe and easy for our admins.

Upgrading to App Volumes 4 and keeping 2.18 agents as-is gives admins a confident way to explore the new App Volumes 4 inventory and pilot packages with users in select pools while ensuring business as usual with their 2.18 production pools.

New installations won’t see Volumes (2.x) in the navigation, as they can skip AppStacks and start directly with the new simplified app packages and application lifecycle management capabilities.

I do urge our existing App Volumes Admins to check out this guide and get ready as we have a lot in store for App Volumes 4!
