Not able to connect the Physical Desktop using the PCOIP and VMblast. RDP working.

Hi,

I am getting an error while accesing thephysical machine using the VMblast and PCOIP.

"Unable to setup Desktop session for the display protocol."

But when a session is authenticated using the RDP protocol, then the VMblast and Pcoip connections are working.

Please advise.

Hi,

Can you if the required ports between Client/UAG/Agent etc. are open.

Yes, all the ports were open in this LAN. So no blocking is here, between the client to Connection broker.

Please help

Can you take a look at the PCOIP or BLAST logs on the client side. What are the error messages?

Those are the Agent log files on the desktop. Maybe they will also provide some usefull information.

The location of the client logs are described in this doc:

Hi

1. Have you run the vmware optimization tool in golden image

2. This issue is with only one pool or other pool? how many pool do you have ?

3. Cross check the pool setting.

4. Master image is fresh os or cloned one?

5. share the horizon agent log file

If using horizon for this, then blast is supported on physical desktops, not PCOIP.  Must have windows 180x+ Enterprise addition, else it won't work.  After that you just add it in as a manual pool in the admin portal.

Windows 180x version for the desktop which is used in the pool, right? or the machine which we use to connect.

To support Physical PC access through Horizon, kindly validate if below conditions are met:

- Physical PC is only supported with Windows 10 Enterprise Edition with Horizon view 7.7 or higher. (See Release Notes for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.7   )

- Windows 10 Pro Edition may work but is not officially supported. The RDP protocol should be used for Windows 10 Pro Edition

- Recommended protocol is BLAST Extreme. You can use RDP Protocol as well

- Windows 10 versions supported are 1803, 1809, 1903 and 1909

-For Windows 10 1903 or higher, only View agent 7.12 is supported. (See https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/67763 )

- Ensure that Microsoft updates are upto date as KB4517211 and KB4520390 are must for 1903 and 1909, otherwise, you might see a black screen when connect to Win 10 Physical PC with Agent 7.12 (See Release Notes for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.12 )

- For more information on accessing PCs with Horizon, refer to https://techzone.vmware.com/resource/using-horizon-7-access-physical-windows-machines#_Network_Ports
