Port Mirroring configuration in Switching profile

Hi,

Does anyone has experience with the Port Mirroring switching profile setup ?

I have a lab environment with 2 hosts, 2 logical switches and 1 tier-1 router to route traffic between both logical switches.

I've been able to configure Port Mirroring with "Local SPAN".

This works perfectly.

Unfortunately, when configuring a Port Mirroring Profile to send captured traffic to an IP address (in the IP address range of one of my logical switches), this does not work.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Thierry

Traffic mirroring using and IP as a destination uses GRE packets sourced from the hosts management network (vmk0). You need connectivity from vmk0 to the destination IP to be able to receive the captured packets. If you have this connectivity just open wireshark on the destination that you will be able to see the packet capture.
