Any benefit to place vMotion traffic on 'vMotion TCP/IP stack' if you aren't using a separate gateway for vMotion?

I thought it was best practice to place all vMotion traffic on the vMotion TCP/IP stack regardless if you use a separate gateway for vMotion or not, but after reading v6.7 documentation seems like you are only supposed to use the vMotion stack IF you plan to use a separate dedicated gateway for vMotion.  I currently have vMotion traffic on the vMotion TCP/IP stack with NO gateway and things seem to work fine, but unsure if I am gaining anything with this config?
