Whitelisted Services are services that have been manually configured e.g. service name, port, display name
Apologies for the typo
Could you explain the term White listed services in the vRealize Operations 8.0 documentation as its very imported to understand the concept before knowing what can be achieved with White listed services in vRealize Operations'
Apologies i wasn't very clear. These are the ways of discovering a service:
You can view discovered services, the number of VMs on which each discovered service is running, and you can configure service discovery. Where You View the Discovered Services From the menu, select Home, and then from the left pane select Discover Services.
vRealize Operations Manager Configuration Guide VMware, Inc. 117 You see a list of services that are discovered and the number of VMs that have the services running. You see this section after you have configured Service Discovery and the services are discovered.
You see a list of all the services supported and those that can be discovered.
You can configure a service by clicking Configure Whitelist, and adding a process name, port, and display name in the Whitelist Service dialog box
So essentially, a "Whitelisted Service" is simply one that you have manually configured rather than one vROPs has in its database already &/or has been discovered. I hope this makes more sense
