Using VMware Fusion 10.1.3 and upgrading to Catalina caused my Windows XP screen to go black

When I upgraded my Apple computer to Catalina and started my Windows XP virtual machine, the Windows XP screen is black.  This virtual machine was running with not issues prior to upgrading my Apple computer (MacBook Pro)  I tried switching in and out of Unity mode with no change.  I tried reinstalling VMware Fusion tools but, because the screen is black, I could not reinstall them.

Has anyone experienced this and is there a solution?

Fusion 10 isn't supported on Catalina.  Upgrading to 11.5 will solve the problem.

There are workarounds and hacks, but they aren't supported or recommended - if you want to try, make sure you have a good backup strategy, and check the other threads in the forum.
