It's best practice to power off the guest, not just suspend, before moving it to another host.

Once powered down, just copy the entire VM's folder to a new machine.  Then power it on.

To your host, a virtual machine is merely a set of files - treat it almost exactly like a document from a word processor.

After shutting down, it's also a good idea to remove any snapshots as well.
