Can't install ESXi on SLC Flash USB

I've been battling with installing ESXi 6.7 U3 Dell R730xd image for a few hours now on a server I'm building for a customer. I've used Gparted to recreate the partition table and tried other Chipfancier SLC USB drives (I have a few). I have no problem installing on a regular Sandisk Cruzer 16GB. Attached is a screenshot of the error message I'm getting currently. Apparently I can't write to the disk. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on?

xoomdust,

I suspect that the Chipfancier SLC is unsupported and I'm currently not aware of a workaround. You could open an SR with VMware Support and research if they have a solution for you.
