Hello,
I uninstalled VMWare and my virtual machine. I had pre-allocated space for the virtual machine, so I have no storage left now. After removing the virtual machine and uninstalling the program, the pre-allocated space is still on my hard drive. I really need help as I have no storage left and my system is screaming at me to free up space.
Thanks.
Did you actually delete the virtual machine from your hard drive? Merely uninstalling Fusion will not remove your VMs. Just like uninstalling Microsoft Word will not remove any documents you created with Word when it was installed...
Just an additional note, if you're on High Sierra or Catalina. If you use time machine, and haven't run a backup in a while, you may not see free space until it runs. You can force it to run a backup, then reboot the machine, which should clear the OS snapshot.
This happens even if you have excluded the virtual machine from time machine because APFS snapshots the disk, not just the folders.
