As I understand it, an ERSPAN type mirror session will send the mirrored traffic to a destination IP address (using a tunnel) via the (vmkernel port) management VLAN. The assumption is that there is a gateway on this VLAN so that the traffic can be routable. Does anyone know whether and how this path can be changed so that the mirror session uses an alternate and dedicated VLAN to deliver the traffic out of the ESX cluster?
