My host (laptop) has a built-in SD card reader. However, when I'm using VMWare with a guest running and insert an SD card, both host Windows 10 explorer and the Guest essentially freeze for about 5 minutes while something (I assume contention) is going on behind the scenes. Once it reconciles, then so long as the card stays in the device, both are happy. Usually though I'm doing this in order to transfer a file, then remove the card... If I do it again, the whole process/delay starts over.
I never need the SD reader in the guest. Is there someway to simply disable it completely from the guest? Would something appear in the log file perhaps to indicate what's going on?
