Fresh Host Operating System Install

Hello,

My host operating system is CentOS 7.  I would like to do a fresh install of CentOS 8 and then reinstall Workstation 15.  Is there anything I need to do prior to the fresh install so I can continue to use my license for Vmware Workstation 15?

Thanks

This is very helpful, there is a Windows KB Article that states if Windows is your Host OS,you have to uninstall prior to re-installation. I don't want to lose my license in the upgrade process. Does untinstalling Vmware Workstation free the license so I can reapply it after I get CentOS 8 up and running?

Hi,

VMware does not have an activation mechanism like Microsoft.

They operate on a bases of trust in their users to do the right thing.

So you're fine in regards to license, it won't be giving you issues because you forgot to uninstall before wiping the host.
