Dear Team
I did removed VM, datastore and luns. I followed processes to unmount the datastore first , detach the devices and then remove the luns in SAN.
After it, i found that it has dead luns problem in my second host of HBA 2. HBA 1 is ok.
We have 3 hosts in cluster. The first and third has no issue, the dead luns is removed after rescan. But on second host, it shown below error. Anyone know how to solve it? restart host ?
[root@host2:~] esxcfg-rescan vmhba1
[root@host2:~] esxcfg-rescan vmhba2
Rescan complete, however some dead paths were not removed because they were in use by the system. Please use the 'storage core device world list' command to see
Hi,
This command instructs the host to rescan a specific hba and clear any paths which are showing as dead:
esxcfg-rescan -d vmhba#
Remove dead/error storage devices
ARomeo
Thanks to AlessandroRomeo68
But i am not sure if this command will have any impact to the system? Do you know about it?
Hi
I tried to run the command esxcfg-rescan -d vmhba2
But i got the same message"Rescan complete, however some dead paths were not removed because they were in use by the system. Please use the 'storage core device world list' command to see the VMkernel worlds still using these paths."
This is one of the dead luns information
