I noticed this surprising statement in the NSX-T 2.5 documentation:
"Important: In NSX-T, the NSX Edge VM does not support vMotion."
And:
"For Edge nodes, DRS must be disabled to prevent automatic vMotion of the Edge VMs."
What is the reasoning behind this restriction? I understand that vMotion switchover time can take several seconds, during which time network traffic would be delayed. Is there another, more serious, reason why vMotion is prohibited for Edge VMs? Is VMware planning to relax this restriction in the future?
Thanks,
Bill
