Data recovery

I am running vmware 6.5 on HP DL360p Gen 8 server.

I have Raid 5 configuration for 10 of 1.8TB Sas 10k drives.

During the power outage 2 out of 10 drives were affected displaying status:  Degraded, (predictive failure)

I got two new drives to replace them and started rebuilding process by changing one of the affected drives.

During the rebuilt process other affected drive has failed.

I have now 2 drives affected and Logical drive showing status: Failed.

we have back up but the loss is still significant. This is not mission critical server and we can take our time if needed.

Is using 3rd party data recovery service to recover one of the drives and then rebuilt array is plausible?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

have a look at a howto I just posted today
How to verify if a Raid-rebuild of a VMFS-volume failed – quick test | VM-Sickbay
If you want to know if there is a chance for recovery - see
Create a VMFS-Header-dump using an ESXi-Host in production | VM-Sickbay
Send a dump like described and I can tell you what to do next.
Before you google for good 3rd party recovery-tools ...
There are only 2 that are worth mentioning:
Diskinternals VMFS Recovery and
UFSexplorer Professional Recovery
Both are good but both have a high chance of resulting in a waste of time - if used by a novice.
Feel free to call me via skype to discuss your options.
