Try to clone it after you restore the bad state. then revert back to the normal one.
And you can do what you want with the Cloned VM.
Thank you. I'm using VMware Fusion 10.1.6. Where do I find the option to clone?
Moderator note: Moved to the Fusion communiy
The steps are:
- Open the Library window
- Shut down the VM if not already shut down
- Select the VM
- Right click (Control+Click) the selected VM
- Select "Create Full Clone"
Alternatively you could use my backup software (Vimalin, see my signature) to create a backup of your VM and restore it back in exactly the same state as it was at the time of backup.
For this particular functionality you can do so with the free license of Vimalin.
