Multiple VM's with the same hard drive ID as the Host?

Is it a ok to have Multiple VM's with the same hard drive ID as the Host?  I have software that binds itself to the Host Hard Drive ID and want to utilize the same license on my VM's.

          Hi,

Not sure if you can set the hardware ID of a guest disk to the same ID as the one from your host disk.

I think it depends on the type of hardware ID that the software verifies.

But if you can change it then yes, it's not a problem.

Your VM is isolated from the host. It does not see the host disk, as such it does not cause any conflicts.
