ESXi is not meant to be installed on desktop hardware. Your PSOD may be a result of incompatible hardware.

If you want an exact answer you can open an SR with VMware...except you don't have support and aren't using supported hardware.

I suggest getting VMware workstation and install a nested ESXi server, yes its a little slower and the os and workstation takes extra resources, but it's more likely to work.
